Texas A&M University's equestrian team is among the most storied in collegiate history. Currently, the Aggies compete in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association. It is a varsity sport at A&M.

Formed in 1999, the Aggie team has won national championships in ten of its first 18 seasons, including capturing the NCEA national title for the 2016-2017 season.

Steve became one of the public address announcers for the program at the start of the 2017-2018 season. He announces the riders, horses and their scores during the Horsemanship and Reining events at the Western Ring of the Hildebrand Equine Complex. He also operates the video scoreboard while announcing and leads the closing ceremonies for each competition.
