Steve is among the most honored journalists in the Brazos Valley's history. From 2004 to 2017, he held numerous roles in the KBTX newsroom.
When he joined the team straight out of college, he served as a weekend reporter. Over the years, he became the weeknight reporter, then the weekend anchor, then a morning anchor, then an afternoon anchor, and finally, one of the station's evening anchors.
In addition, Steve produced numerous newscasts, and helped helm the station's award-winning Texas A&M football pre-game show which aired across the state.
As a reporter, Steve traveled across the region and state, including trips to Austin to cover the state's government. He went to Washington, DC to meet with Texas's elected officials. When Johnny Manziel won the Heisman Trophy, Steve was part of the coverage team in New York City. When a museum dedicated to Aggies in World War II opened in Belgium, Steve was there. And he spent two weeks in Afghanistan covering Texans and Aggies serving in the war.
Steve has earned five national Telly Awards, two Lone Star Emmys and more than 40 honors from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters, along with other awards.
